Description
The most important paleo-thing I’ve ever written since How to Properly Restore the Winged Arms of Aviremigians - Final Corrections. An entire post about pterosaur wings: shapes, colours, pycnofibres, thigh or ankle attachment, uropatagium and folding. Or, to put in another way: What You wanted to know about Pterosaur Wings but You’ve Never Asked!
You can read it here: ktboundary-smnt2000.blogspot.i…
Diagram references: Mike Hanson, Mark Witton.
EDIT, February 2015:
One of the things that I didn't put in my article was a useful diagram to use as an artistic reference. I had several different drawings but only recently I've decide to put them together.
Try to remember that I'm not a paleontologist nor a professional paleoartist, but I've tried my best to draw in a rigorous yet simple way, respecting proportions but avoiding excessive nitpicking (that's also the reason for some little notes here and there.). So keep in mind that errors might be present and I will update the diagram and the post everytime will be necessary.
Enough chitchat and don't forget to read the aforementioned post!
