All Yesterdays 01: Frustrated Caviramus

Description

Now it's my turn, boys and girls.

The authors of 'All Yesterdays' (Darren Naish, John Conway and CM Kosemen) at the beginning of 2013 opened a theme competition to celebrate the release of their text. The subject of the challenge is the same one that permeates the pages of their illustrated book: depict prehistoric animals in situations and behaviors almost paradoxical, but absolutely realistic and also found in the animal world today. Since it opened, countless number of drawings of paleo-illustrators from around the world can be seen on the net, each with a view of the prehistoric world absolutely fascinating and intriguing. The occasion was obviously too tempting to be refused, and so I decided to try too. It does not matter if you win or not: artistic creativity and the works of fellow illustrators are all honorable. And I had a lot of fun, I must admit it. Originally, I wanted to send three compositions, but due to personal commitments and mishaps of various kinds, I had to resize my projects. This does not change the fact that I am extremely satisfied.

My first entry for the contest, starring the bizarre pterosaur Caviramus (also known by its synonym Raeticodactylus). The animal has been depicted in a sexual act with another individual of the same species ... Male. But above all DEAD. Homosexuality is widespread in nature, despite the conception imposed by humans. Lions, goats, dolphins, various species of birds and many other animals well known to be "gay". However, a much more rare form of perversion is necrophilia. Even more rare is that associated with individuals of the same genus. Rare, but not impossible. There are documented cases of this "mania" among mallards, toads and even Adelie penguins. Therefore it should not be (too) amazing that such behavior could also be found in extinct animals. The topic of prehistoric homosexuality has already been proposed by the incredible Julio Lacerda (link: julio-lacerda.deviantart.com/g… # / art/All-Yesterdays-Taboo-349061706? _sid = 6c97320c), but I hope to have offered another variant in this regard.

. .  bizarra anécdota :/

this reminds me of a small event that happened in front of my house a few months ago, a dead dog, which had been run over (the dog was already dying, with his jaw completely dislocated and in layers of eating normally, the car alone I finish killing) and another dog was trying to "mount it" (they were male dogs) one. . . Bizarre anecdote :/
